JACK's Story
I was Amphi's photographer for the yearbook and newspaper as Jack Rauscher (my nickname) from 1972 to 1974. I graduated in May 1974 and went to the University of Arizona, where I received my diploma as a Mining Engineer in December 1978. I worked in Fairfield and Dallas Texas as a coal mine engineer and International mining consultant between 1979 and 1994. I married my first wife Mara, a beauty queen of Venezuela in Sept. 1989, but she divorced me for another guy in 1992. I married my 2nd wife Nacira, a truly wonderful person, in Dec.1992, and we moved to Miami Beach Florida, when i was laid-off in Aug.1994. In Florida, I was a floor covering salesman, Home Depot Carpet Pro, Bilingual Customer Service Rep. for PODS and HSN- Home Shopping Network, etc. My wife contracted Pulmo...Expand for more
nary Hypertension and could not breathe, so we moved to Maracaibo Venezuela from 2003 to 2011, where she could breathe without oxygen for 7 years- a true miracle from Jesus. However, she passed-away on 2/1/2011. So, I moved back to the USA with the shirt on my back & broke as could be & somehow made my way back to Texas as a full-time shipping clerk. of a heart monitoring distributor and as a part-time People Greeter at a Dallas/Frisco Walmart. In 2012, I became a mining engineer again in Fairfield, TX until a layoff in 2017, when I remarried again to Jane and moved to Malakoff, TX next to a fishing lake. And now I am retired and trying to reach out to old friends and buddies again cause I reckon' one just can't do much else until the Covid-19 pandemic passes- Hopefully soon!
